Chemistry
This year in chemistry, we will be working to deepen our understanding of how chemistry shapes our daily live in innumerable ways.
New and Improved Project
For our first project, our task was to improve a consumer product that plays an important role in our lives by changing the elements, compounds or molecules that compose it. Then we wrote and mailed a letter to the engineering division of the company that makes the product, explaining the benefits of our proposed changes. Click here to view the letter
Semester I Artifact-Water Ion Investigation Lab
This semester in Chemistry, I have done very well with understanding challenging concepts, performing complicated tasks, and keeping my grade up. This can be exemplified by one of several labs that we have done, which I got 100% on.
Labs require skills mentioned above, as well as problem solving and critical thinking, so this is one of the best pieces I have that demonstrate my work ethic. The length shows how thorough I have been, the grade shows how effective I have been, and the content shows my understanding of the concept. This was also one of my favorite labs because I thought it was one of the most meaningful and applicable labs. We were testing our water from home to see if it contained certain ions that might be harmful to our health to drink. |
